Using computer vision to visualise the flows of people and the rhythm of the city.

Barcelona has a large number of public spaces with different “rhythms” and qualities. With the YOLO-Detection Tool, we were able to analyze the rhythm of three spaces close to the city-center. From this analysis, we proposed a re-design to each space that would change the rhythm and add specific qualitative values. Rhythm: a strong, regular repeated pattern of movement or sound The Rhythm of public space is defined as a composition of proportion, placement, and typologies of dynamic or static spaces.
